- у меня явно спутались в голове описания схем шифрования писем в Stalwart и Dovecot, потому что encryption at rest общим ключом происходит именно в Dovecot: doc.dovecot.org/main/core/plug…
- в Stalwart схема поумнее, там как @drq и описал, пользователь может добавить свой ключ, и почтовик, как я понимаю, сможет заворачивать письма этого пользователя в эдакие "конверты" с этим ключом — что должно бы надёжно защищать содержимое сообщений, но не метаданные, связанные с их доставкой: stalw.art/docs/encryption/over…
- Proton, насколько я понимаю, шифрует сообщения целиком, до такой степени, что их становится невозможно передавать по каким-то из стандартных протоколов — поэтому для них и приходится использовать костыли типа локального шлюза, который расшифровывает их до состояния совместимости с обычными почтовыми клиентами: proton.me/support/imap-smtp-an…

At least it feels like an early Christmas present for myself. I am replacing my current NAS, it has served my well for many years.
The current CPU is a AMD A10-5800K which was released 13 years ago. Before my NAS was powered by an AMD E-350 which is even a lot slower.
I started with 3 HDDs: WD Blue 4 TB and ended up with 8 HDDs (with disabled standby and suspend).
Now I am trying a fresh start with 3 Seagate IronWolf with 20 TB each.

My NAS is not running 24/7, maybe 3 hours per day in average.
So I got a new CPU for my desktop PC (AMD Ryzen 5 5800XT) and put the old CPU in my new NAS (AMD Ryzen 5 3600X).
My desktop PC feels more snappy now and I have a reliable CPU for my NAS.
I forgot to mention it is running openmediavault!
It has served me well all the years, smooth updates and very reliable!
