Yet the #philosophy behind open source would be a way to save our #civilization in the face of increasingly worsening #crises. We need durable #software and #hardware that can be maintained, repaired and customized by anyone. The #world's #knowledge belongs to #humanity and should be freely available to everyone. This increases longevity and significantly improves environmental #compatibility. A proprietary #smartphone without updates can be thrown away. It is not #profit or #capitalism that matters, but the common good and environmental #sustainability. Free software can be a way to achieve this, but you have to get involved and participate in the #community in an altruistic way.
