@Delta Chat this likely won't help much against censorship but is certainly welcome for other reasons. So I get it right that it will be possible to migrate between servers?

@Kalle Kniivilä sadly our censors are not completely dumb and run device farms to detect even undisclosed servers which apps connect to one way or another. This way they managed to render Tor practically non-functional without private bridge servers as all public ways to distribute them eventually lead to blocks. So it doesn't matter much 🙁

@Kalle Kniivilä right now smaller services seen to be the best choice as large services like Yandex or Mail.ru don't work with DeltaChat well. I am not sure if the reason is censorship or just they don't like constant stream of encrypted mail they can't parse with their analytics but it is unreliable.

Also some foreign mail servers can be blocked by large mail providers on mail transport level - although these are mostly "protected mail services" like Tutanota and not used for DC anyway.

@shuro I'm using Tuta for my own domain. Does that mean my mail to users in Russia will be blocked? Or only that users in Russia cannot log in to Tuta?

@Kalle Kniivilä it is not centralized common occurrence but some large mail providers like mail.ru were quietly blocking mail flow to Tutanota and Proton mail. It is not on ISP level though.

AFAIK there are no concrete "legal" grounds for it and it is intermittent but still.
