"Padun" waterfall on Vincha river. North Karelia, Aug 1997. This is an artificial water channel made for timber rafting purpose in the middle of 20-th centure. Not used anymore. Original waterfall was located nearby, and caused problems for passing logs through. So it was shortened by this channel. Scanned from film. #waterfall #waterfallwednesday #photography

I've got a "thing" about antennas on beautiful buildings! -Phil

It may look better this way, but I'm not inclined to remove any real elements from photos.
in reply to Dmitry

I divide photos into two groups: Historical/Journalistic and Artistic. Journalistic standards are very strict and allow almost no post-processing, while in Artistic - Anything Goes! Your photo can easily go either way ;)>
in reply to Phil 'BygByte' Reynolds

I agree, it depends on your goal. I generally prefer to retain all the details.

A little camera induced perspective distortion ... no big deal on a Great Photo! -Phil

in reply to Dmitry

There's not much difference in luminance [lumens] between the subject and background. I edited only the background by desaturating [~40%] and resetting the black point. -Phil

I tried to fix this with curves, but could not. Thank you for the suggestion! I did not know it works like this.

They probably still have some snow in August. And June is like a spring there.
