"Padun" waterfall on Vincha river. North Karelia, Aug 1997. This is an artificial water channel made for timber rafting purpose in the middle of 20-th centure. Not used anymore. I divide photos into two groups: Historical/Journalistic and Artistic. Journalistic standards are very strict and allow almost no post-processing, while in Artistic - Anything Goes! Your photo can easily go either way ;)>

There's not much difference in luminance [lumens] between the subject and background. I edited only the background by desaturating [~40%] and resetting the black point. -Phil
